We were in Rexburg for memorial weekend and we were leaving for Vegas that next Thursday. When we planned the vaca, Bonnie was actually doing really good and we all felt like she had a lot of time left, so a small weekend in Vegas wouldn't be a big deal. Well, when we came home for memorial weekend, she had gone through that big surgery and was getting worse every day. We tried to cancel our flights to Vegas, but it was going to cost about as much in fines as the actual tickets. (don't fly allegiant!! Their customer service is horrible) Anyways, Bonnie got really mad that we were even thinking about canceling, and insisted on us going and having fun. She told me multiple times to go make fun family memories and she would be here when we got back. We were instructed by Bonnie to take a lot of pictures so she could see them and feel like she was there with us. We decided to go on the vacation and we would see her when we got back.
So, we went and actually had a blast. We went to Lake Las Vegas and stayed in the Weston. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a small get-a-way. It was perfect for our family. We just stayed at the hotel and played in the pools, on the beach, and relaxed the entire time. It was way hot, but the pools were awesome and the kids loved the beach.
Chris called Bonnie a few times every day while we were gone. She said she was doing good. She sounded upbeat and happy. She even was able to go to the temple on Friday. Saturday night we got a call from the family and she had taken a turn for the worse and was not going to make it through the night. Chris was able to talk to her on the phone for a few minutes. The family told us that was the most alert she had been all day. Bonnie passed away that Saturday night.
Chris flew back to Boise the next morning, got in the car, and drove to Rexburg. My heart was breaking for him. He wasn't able to be there and see his mom. The kids and I flew straight back to Rexburg with my parents later that morning. I don't know if I will ever be able to forgive myself for making him go on this vacation while he should have been with his mom. But, I know Bonnie wanted us to be there and she would have been mad if we would have stayed in Rexburg. All I can hope for is to know there is reason for everything and there must have been a reason we were not suppose to be there that night. Words can not explain how much we will miss her. She was the center, the light, the happiness, and the fun of the Thomason family. There is not a day in our lives that she will not be greatly missed.
So, here are some pictures from our Vegas vacation. We really had so much fun. And I know Bonnie would have been happy we were making such great memories together with our little kidos

Looks so fun! I love the picture of Chris pushing Jet in his inner tube (21). They have the exact same expression!
